Day at Sea, April 13

Well, today and tomorrow are days at sea, while we cross the Bay of Bengal from Thailand to Sri Lanka.  The Bay of Bengal is part of the Indian Ocean, the third largest body of water in the world.  So what does one do on a cruise ship during a day at sea?  Glad you asked.

First, we tidied up our room, which by this time was becoming a bit of a mess.  Then we bundled up and sent out the laundry, 20 pieces for $20, including washing and folding.  Next,  we checked out the coin laundromat, which we plan to use tomorrow for the small items.  That's it for the work. Off to eat and play!!!

It is now mid afternoon, hot and sunny.  We are sitting on the pool deck, our favourite place for e-mail as there is a strong signal here.  So far today,we have attended a cooking lesson given by the Executive Chef, and Peggy has three new Italian recipes.  We then  practiced golf on the putting green and in the driving net.  Next was an obstacle putting tournament, where Peggy's deuce was good enough for second place and two Big-O points, while my three was only worth one point.  Apparently, you accumulate points throughout the cruise, and win something by the end.  Hopefully not a big 0.  This is the first event we have entered, but now we are hooked.

And what we really do a lot of, on a day at sea, is read.  We are both reading Terry Fallis novels, different ones, and enjoying them very much.  If you haven't tried one, you should.  He writes extremely well.  The stories are quite compelling. You can't put the book, actually the Kobo, down.   Best of all, the stories are set in Canada so you learn a great deal more about our country.

Here are a few pictures from a day art sea.
