Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, April 10

We are sea today so we have a chance to catch up.

Yesterday we were in Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia I had always wanted to go there because the name was intriging ..kind of like Timbuktu. Well, it wasn't as exciting as the name. The least exotic of the places we have been. Malaysia has a populaion of 27.5 million with 2 million living in KL.The majority are Moslem Islamics with Chinese, Indonesions and Indian bringing up the rear.
Our guide was excellent and we learned a lot about the history, politics education system and governing bodies. They still have Sultans here.

Obviously, the Prime Minister felt the same way about KL as I did, so he commissioned the Petronas Twin towers which would bring tourist to Malaysia. And they do.There is also the KL Tower. It is very very humid so alot of the buildings are covered with black mold making them look dirty.

Tin mining was an important industry here and now the tin is used to make pewter. KL is the largest producer in the world.

At the washroom break there were 2 stalls, an english toilet and a Turkish squatteer. I couldn't believe it but there was a line up at the ladies squatter. Go figure. And why pay for a pedicure when for $3 you can have a small pirhana eat the dead skin off your feet!!!

We are heading back up to Thialand again. This time to Phuket, on the other coast. Arrive at 8am tomorrow.

Cheers, P&G
