Pack up your old kit bag, April 18

Today is a day at sea as we travel from the Maldives to Cochin, India.  Tomorrow the real excitement, and possibly the highlight of the whole trip, begins.  Today we are "packing up our old (actually new) kit bag", and putting it our in the hall by 8 PM.  Tomorrow at 6 AM a small group of us dissembark at Cochin which is on the southwest coast of India, fly to Delhi which is in the middle north of India, and take a 3 1/2 hour bus ride to Agra to see the Taj Mahal.  We spend two nights at the Radisson Hotel in Agra, then fly to Mumbai and rejoin the ship.  Mumbai, previously Bombay, is on the northwest coast of India.  The hotel is listed as having WiFi, so we will, hopefully, be able to keep the blog going.  However, if you don't hear from us for a few days, don't worry.  We can catch it up later.

Today is warm and sunny, but not quite as humid as past days.  As we head north, the weather seems to be getting more tolerable.  However, we see that Delhi is 33C, so could be pretty bad there.

Not much to report today.  Typical lazy day at sea.  Except, of course, for our daily consitutional ... a morning walk, in my case jog, on the "track" (13 laps to the mile).  Yesterday, we did the walk at sunset.  Down here you never do it during the day.  Here is a picture of Peggy circling the track at sunset yesterday.

This morning we attended another cooking demonstration, this time given by a "Master Chef" who is a special guest abourd.  Oceania makes a big fuss over the food, and they do a great job.  This is one of the reasons we like this cruise line.

Keep us posted on what is happening back home.

Cheers, P&G
