Day at Sea, April14

It's day two at sea.

For those of you who have never seen the Indian Ocean we are enclosing a photo. Vast amounts of nothing.  Enjoy! Actually, we have seen a few things; dolphins leaping out of the water, flying fish doing the same, and a few lost birds floating around, but mostly nothing.  No other ships.  We must not be on the main shipping lanes.  This is the area where the 2006 tsunami happened..226,000 people died. The monsoon season is coming in May and the early traders and travellers used the monsoon winds to travel.  During the monsoon season the winds blow towards the west, and the rest of the time they blow the other way.  So, they could make one round trip per year.

We have had another lazy day, starting with 20 laps of walking around the track at 7:00am. George then ran another 26 laps (2 miles).  Man it was hot.  We get extra sleep as the time zones are changing every couple of days. Interesting, Sri Lanka and India are like Newfoundland. They are a half hour off the other countries.

We put our unmentionables in the washing machine and headed for a superb Sunday brunch complete with mimosas. Then back to finish the laundry. See attached photos...something you never thought you would see.

 

 

Then time by the pool, putting challenge and now we off to a talk on piracy, what to expect and what happened when this ship was attacked before.
